Web host migration complete

I was able to successfully migrate the site over to a2hosting last night / this morning. a2hosting is cheaper then bluehost (which is really saying something!), seems a lot faster, and allows you to run nodejs apps, which is what the website will be. It's been written for a long time, I just need to...

Re: Chatroom, IRC, or such

Yup we definitely need to set something up and get this going. I'll have to check out your link when I get home tonight, I've never used telegram but I can figure it out.

Re: I am so happy this engine is back!

How can I subscribe to the entire announcements forum? I'd like to hear back in form of e-mails That's a great question! I'm running phpbb for the forum software so you might just have to Google "phpbb subscribe forum email notification" and see if you can find it. I couldn't find anything off a qu...

Re: I hope Jet3D and Destiny3D to be revived too

In regards to Destiny3d and the old G3D projects, it's great that you have those old projects but ultimately they will not be hosted here and once we get new engine code the old will probably go as well. As unlikely as it is... I don't want to run the risk of someone taking old code and putting it i...

Re: Hey let's do this!

This is the kind of enthusiasm I'm looking for! Much like yourself it's the "finding the free time" part that's keeping me from progressing as much as I'd like. The plan is simple: 1: Finish the overhaul of the website 2: Move web hosting companies to one that supports running a node.js app as the b...

Re: I hope Jet3D and Destiny3D to be revived too

Welcome back Kenshiro! A lot of source from the engines you speak of have been lost over the ages. I have a zip in the old Genesis website archives called 'destiny3dbinaries.zip' but that's just binaries unfortunately. DTest.exe and some engine dlls. I'm sure it exists somewhere, maybe paradoxnj or ...

Re: I am so happy this engine is back!

Welcome back Technodisco! A lot has changed in the past 20+ years to which I would imagine that you could count the number of people who use Genesis3D on one hand. I run the website and *I* don't even use it! lol But that's kind of the point. This used to be a very vibrant community and it'd be cool...

Forum bots removed, new user/bot countermeasures changed

One of the weird things about running a forum... is all the bots that show up to post! Even with Captcha enabled!! I was pretty aggressive in removing bots, I apologize if you created a forum account for real and it got nuked. I've switched to a qualifying question, one which should easily be answer...

Re: Level texture problems

UPDATE: Yes, using a newer editor fixed the problem. I used the one packaged with the Reality Factory: https://www.realityfactory.info/cms/ind ... st-release
Excellent to hear! They must have changed some texture packing stuff at some point.
